Background: Our first house mother from the 50’s was Mom Stuart. There was a story in the The University Daily Kansan in 1999, reporting that after the KU bus driver “Rockin” Ron Gleason died, some students wanted to rename Stewart Ave. (where our chapter house was) to “Rockin’ Ron Ave.” They interviewed the Lambda Chi Alpha president who said (wrongly) that the street was named after our first house mother … whose ashes are above the fireplace.
